Some classic stuff of the Fribourg region in winter:
+ take the drive after-work to the small skifield of Moleson
+ skin up or walk to the top of the ski-lift, by night (even better when the full moon in shining)
+ have an excellent cheese fondue in the high restaurant
+ ski down to the car
= a pretty good evening!

I think when you come to the US you will have to find an all-you-can-eat fondue buffet (they must exist). I guess the danger is that you won't do any climbing then!
A common saying in Swizzy: "You should stop eating cheese fondue while you are still hungry... It is too late after!"

Pfff, those Canadians, they are worst than Americans about geography! ;o)
Actually, the towns in question are Bulle and Gruyere. On the right, you can see Dent de Broc, which we ski tour last year http://frenchiiiiie.blogspot.com/2009/02/skitour-with-donn-and-oliver.html.
